About Nicky

Hi, I'm Nicky, the tutor behind Sew Happy. With over 20 years of sewing experience, in a range of specialist areas, including; dressmaking, textiles, tailoring, pattern drafting and a degree in theatre costume craft, I'm happy to lend my knowledge and expertise to any project.

My own sewing style is vibrant and colourful, with a high quality finish that I encourage my students to replicate (think colourful dungarees pattern matched to perfection!).

I am a fully qualified teacher, with over 10 years of teaching experience within Adult Education, teaching a full and varied array of students, ranging in ability from complete beginners up to GCSE level, and with an age range of 18-90 years old! I strongly believe that you're never too old to learn a new skill, and that learning should be enjoyable.

My classes are fun, friendly and inclusive, and I strive to ensure that my students feel valued and inspired to fulfill their own sewing destiny.

Hattie, my trusty dog companion will be at my side in class to offer a calming presence, and provide some (sometimes much needed) stress relief when things aren't quite going to plan!

And all of this in glorious Yorkshire, by 'eck!
